Eiji is unusually calm and confident, for the most part. He does, however, have a weakness of letting his pride get the better of him, and as he considers himself superior to all humans, this is easy to exploit. He's often extremely cheerful, at least on the surface, and doesn't allow anything to visibly get him down.
He really loves animals and will put aside all dignity to roll on the floor with a cat.
World History:
In the distant fantasy dimension of Mana, the world operated on RPG mechanics. All the light made by the gods creating the world produced a shadow. The darkness of this shadow coalesced into the first demon, Midnight. Midnight, not part of the divine plan, was destroyed and reborn as he tried to disrupt the balance of the world, with the demon race he created and controlled. Every time, the gods blessed a human with the power to defeat Midnight. All except the goddess of mercy, who instead saved her power until the 108th incarnation. She used all that power to ensure Midnight would be reborn somewhere he was loved.
That turned out to be another world; Earth. Born as a human named Naito Eiji, Midnight's mother and father loved him very much. Eiji was a perfectly normal human.
Until, as a child, his neighbour refused to turn down their music when his mother was trying to sleep. Eiji killed him in a fit of rage, and to his surprise, a jingle played. LEVEL UP! Eiji thus began his quest to become the Demon King once more! His fragmented memories as Midnight influence him slightly, and he is still conflicted if he wishes to purge humanity or rule it- he does, after all, now know what love feels like.
The conflict does not stop him from enjoying his serial killing. He obtains more experience points from higher-level victims (on Earth, this takes into account wealth and prestige as these are the key ways humans measure status but combat is also included) he isn't too picky. He usually carefully plans high-level killings in advance but kills opportunistically as well, such as those that annoy him or he thinks would be fun to slaughter. After doing it for so long and so often, he delights in it. He occasionally does it for hire, but mostly it’s personal.
Of course, he may be just a delusional human... but the appearance of a police officer accompanied by a young girl with mysterious powers of her own lends credence to his beliefs. And heralds his eventual downfall.
Appearance:
Eiji is a 6'4 slab of muscle, with an especially well developed upper body and broad shoulders.
He typically wears tight t-shirts with incomprehensible messages, or short-sleeved shirts open past the collarbone. He likes jewellery, especially rings, and is usually wearing some unremarkable examples.
He has bright brown eyes. His hair is black and wavey, with blonde highlights.
Abilities:
As the Demon King Midnight, he was an immensely powerful being you could rightfully call the adversary of the world. Every time Midnight died, he would be reborn from the darkness in the world. He would then take time to recover his strength and levels. While his destructive power was fearsome, what truly made him terrifying was his unique ability Demonisation which allowed him to create, and corrupt other beings into, demons. Whenever his demons killed, he would receive the experience.
That cycle ended with the intervention of the goddess of mercy, and now Eiji is having to level up slowly. He has begun hoarding skill points so he can repurchase the Demonisation ability, but in the meantime, he has developed himself into a moderate superhuman. Not so much he is invulnerable to normal human attacks, but certainly beyond normal limits. He's able to flip a car and tear people apart barehanded and is very fast. He can regenerate from any wound, though not very quickly and is not immortal- a killing blow is a killing blow. He has purchased a few useful, low-level spells.
🔍Scan- the staple of all isekai, it allows him to gather info on others.
🔥Fireball- gathers flames in his hands, can be thrown.
🌑Shadow Skin- becomes invisible in low light, lasts a long time.
💀Life Drain- sucks the health from living beings, restoring his health.
⛓Shadow Shackle- creates chains of darkness, which cannot be broken by physical force. They cease to exist in bright light.
Due to having a large stockpile of skill points, he can purchase new skills quickly and easily- but he is loathed to do so as it slows him from his goal of regaining Demonisation.
It is possible to develop special skills without spending skill points. Eiji calls it 'the hard way' and it revolves around performing a relevant task or training. He doesn't actively pursue this method because he believes his desired skills are too esoteric to be earned this way in the mundane Earth. Nevertheless, he possesses a few incidental skills from just living-
Slasher- improves his skill with edged weapons. Earned by using edged weapons repeatedly, makes for excellent cutting in the kitchen too.
Stalker- improves his stealth, makes him very quiet but not supernaturally so.
Climber- improves his grip and balance, allowing him to scale difficult surfaces.
Beast Tamer- he gets on well with animals.
Poison resistance- as a result of smoking so much, he's developed a mild resistance to all toxins.
He has a few other benefits of RPG mechanics. He has an inventory with 99 slots, each of which can hold 99 of the same item. When stored there, they can be called back and forth. Weight and size don’t matter. A good night's sleep will restore his health and magic power totally (though it will not fix anything which requires regeneration, such as missing body parts).
He does not just receive experience from killing but completing any task awards him a relevant amount of experience points. Ordinary everyday things he's done many times are so low challenge they do not offer him any experience anymore. The quick burst from killing is his preferred method. He does automatically receives a 'reward' for completing tasks on behalf of others, such as cash or items. Where they come from is a mystery.

Always open to AUing him to being a simply delusional killer, who thinks he's a demon from another dimension.
